Black Death - 4 Mark
  1. One way people avoided the black death was that they prayed and confessed their sins to God
    1. This was because they believed that God sent disease to punish people for their sins or test their faith. People prayed because they believed they would not catch the disease
    2. Another way people avoided the Black Death was flagellation.
      1. People would whip themselves in order to punish themselves for their sins. This meant that God would not send disease as they had already recognised their sins.
