It´s simply how likely something is to happen.
Whenever we’re unsure about the outcome of an event, we can talk about the probabilities of certain outcome (how likely they are). The analysis of events governed by probability is called statistics.
- Statistics is the science concerned with developing and studying methods for collecting, analyzing, interpreting and presenting empirical data.
Probability of an event = (number of ways it can happen) / (total number of outcomes)
- Examples: The probability of a side of the coin to be the result is 1/2 (50%). The probability of a number in the dice to be the result is 1/6(16.66%)
