1. Water
  1. The most basic and most important nutrient
2. Carbohydrates
  1. Two types complex and simple but you need some of both
3. Protein
  1. The nutrient most people already get enough of
4. Fat
  1. Without this your brain and nerves won't work as well
5. Vitamins
  1. Help break down and release energy from other nutrients
6. Minerals
  1. Help perform a wide variety of essential functions in the body
Carbohydrates
1. Ideal source of energy
2. 55-65% of your food should be carbs
3. Simple
  1. High in calories low in nutritional value
  2. Some are found in fruits and vegetables and they do have more nutritional value in those
4. Complex
  1. Great source of energy
  2. Rich in vitamins minerals and fiber
Fiber
1. Indigestible but but helps digestion
2. May reduce the risk of some diaseases
3. Speeds up food passage and helps protect tract tissue to cancer causing agents
4. Binds with cholesterol and carries it out of the body
