    1. Action Set Pieces
      1. -Rapid editing that is obstructive and for effect, mix of steadi-cam, tracking shots accompanying music.
      2. Dialogue
        1. Scenes use continuity editing that is un-obstructive
        2. Parallel Editing
          1. Use of parallel editing to show the Joker's plans and Batman's are occurring at the same time - highlights the contrast between the two.

            1. To speed up pace of narrative and fit with genre conventions - Bruce Wayne piecing together the bullet to find a finger print.

                                    1. The police are corrupt for the most part - helps batman to be accepted and Commissioner Gordon represents the hero.

                                      1. Used to clarify narrative.
                                        1. The nature of the motive behind the Joker's actions, then they are given the explanation.
                                        2. Music
                                          1. Music is used throughout the exposition and rising action to signal who the Joker is -
                                            1. The stinger chord is played every-time the joker is in a scene.
                                              1. Music also used to convey feelings of characters throughout.
