SSRI
  1. Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors.
    1. The SSRI prevents unused Serotonin from being retaken back up into the terminal button and being broken down.
      1. Instead the unused Serotonin remains in the synapse until the currently being used Serotonin is used up, making way for the remaining Serotonin to be used.
        1. Strengths:
          1. Reduced symptoms of depression
            1. Reduced chance of suicide
              1. Work faster than other therapies
                1. Low price
                2. Weaknesses:
                  1. Not more effective than placebos
                    1. Other treatments more effective long-term
                      1. Decreased activity in prefrontal cortex
                        1. dependency
                          1. Can cause suicides/violence
                            1. Doesn't provide care, only reduces symptoms
                            2. Side effects
                              1. Vomiting
                                1. Nausea
                                  1. Insomnia
                                    1. Sexual disfunction
