1. Intrinsic

   • Involves engaging in behavior because it is personally rewarding; essentially, performing an activity for its own sake rather than the desire for some external reward. The majority of the time , the secret to high performance isn't rewards and punishments, but that unseen intrinsic drive.
   • Autonomy
     • the urge to direct our own lives
   • Mastory
     • the desire to get better and better at something that matters
   • Purpose
     • the yearning to do what we do in the service of something larger than ourselves.
   • Enjoyment

2. Extrinsic

   • This behavior is motivated by a desire to gain a reward or avoid an adverse outcome.Works well for tasks with a narrow focus, where you just see the goal right there and zoom straight ahead to it. This is not how a lot of modern day work works.
