- 1Induction TrainingSpecial training to introduce a new worker to the business so they can be introduced to other workers =, place of work etc.
- 2On-the-job TrainingOccurs at the place or work and while the worker is doing their job
- 3Off-the-job TrainingOccurs when the worker is not doing their job. It may still be at the place of work, or the employees may be sent somewhere else for the training E.g. one day a week at college
- 4CoachingWhen one worker supports another to develop their skills and knowledge
- 5AppraisalWhen a line manager assesses a subordinates work and discusses targets for the worker to achieve and the raining they may need
- 6Lifelong LearningThe idea that workers will need to keep learning different skills during their working lives E.g. as technology changes
- 7Investors in People (IIP)A scheme by which the quality of staff training and development in a business can be recognised by an outside organisation, it may help to attract good works if it is shown that the business keeps developing the skills of their workers
- 8Performance Related PayA way of paying workers that rewards them for how much they produce or how well they work
