- 1The Celts lived in britain over 2000 years ago , They were many different Celtic tribes such as the Icenic and the Durotriges ,They often chose to live on hill forts for defense , They were farmers and settlers , growing crops such as wheat corn and barley . They were also fierce warriors and the tribes would fight over land in times of a drought or a diseaseHouses for the celts
The celts made their houses in s very different way that the way we build our houses today they used this thing called wattle and daub
Wattle and daub came in two parts the first part was the wattle and that was flexible wood widen around some other sticks and forced together to make a very sturdy wall
To Make the daub it was were everything got messy it came in 4 parts the daub Mud, Water , Straw and poop and this method was used to actually make the wall more sturdy to the surrounding conditions - 2Why did the tribes sometimes have to look for a new home ? They looked for a new home because they might have run out of food , there was a drought , the land was not good enough for farming or there was a disease and sometime the land was not easy to capture because other people might be living there.Why were forts built on hills ?
1.So the soldiers down below wouldn't be able to through anything at them E.G. Stones , Arrows and many more things
2.The hill was very slippery so it was hard to climb up
3.If they wan't to overtake their land they would have to run uphill and that was very tiering . - 3Who were the druids ? The Druids where very important priests and they held their ceremonies in forests and open meadow clearings and they believed that mistletoe was a very powerful medicine but nowadays people use mistletoe at christmasWhy was a blacksmith very important to a tribe?
Blacksmiths very very important to a tribe because they were the ones that made all the weapons and at that time not many people knew how to make weapons
