The car hire company would be able to seperate the records into appropriate sections in order to make them more manageable and accessible. For example, they could have a workbook for customers, one for cars, one for expenditure, one for income etc
Describe how functions and formulae can be used in mathematical modelling Functions and formulae allow numbers to be input and for any changes to be automatically recalculated. It also allows many different scenarios to be carried out using a single model.
Describe two differences between a formulae and a function A formula is the way a calculation is presented and looks on the page, whereas, a function forms part of the formula. A formula uses mathematical operators, whereas the function contains predefined, complex mathematical operators
Explain two advantages of using a spreadsheet to answer what-if questions Models can automatically recalculate data. This means that the model can be changed over and over again, each time with different results. Another advantage is that the cost and time of physically creating the models is likely to be less as one model can be used more than once and the physical model would not need to be built
