  1. Stretcher bearers carried wounded soldiers were they rushed down the battlefield whilst flying bullets were going past them. They needed to get to ant point were they could just look down at the patient.

  2. They were then carried to the RAP which was a regimental aid post which was very close to the front line and they sent there to get some treatment and bandage light wounds and send them back in action.

  3. A field ambulance was not a vehicle but a unit of medical officers and support staff and their stations were tents and shelters where they would treat the wounded body

  4. The CCS was the first large well equipped medical facility. they were usually 7-12 miles away from the fighting. they performed many operations even more than hospitals and they did amputations as surgery.

  5. The base hospitals were the main hospital and this were a lot of wounded soldiers came as this was their main source of treatment. In 1917 they developed x-rays which could scan the body and see if their was any broken limbs.
