An observation is made of a phenomena in the world. E.g. Attempted genocide in WW2.
Theory is developed to explain observation and a hypothesis is developed in line with the theory. E.g. Germans are different.
A hypothesis is tested using emprical methods. E.g. how people respond to authority figures.
Result are analysed to evaluate whether the hypothesis is supported or not. E.g. German people are not different they are the same as anyone else.
