1. Subclass (Child)

   • is a
   • Inherits all public methods and fields
   • Keyword: extends (denotes the subclass)

2. Superclass (Parent)

   • The super class is what the subclass extends
   • You cannot have a sub class extends two super classes

3. A line with an arrow is used ti depict the parent-child relationship

4. Benefits

   • Can change the behavior of the existing class
   • Can add functionality not present in the original class
