Mesolithic Ireland
The Mesolithic Period
.12,00 years ago Ireland was covered in snow and ice
The first people that came to Ireland came by dugout canoe or skin covered boats from Britan.
Mesolithic people made weapons and everyday items mainly out of stone
10,00 years ago
They lived near water
They were nomadic so when food ran out they were out (hey moved to find another place to live)
Their houses were mainly made of saplings (light branches) which were tied together by animal hides or guts)
The houses were then covered in grass, leaves or bushes
The Mesolithic people hunted for food and gathered berries and nuts
They fished for salmon using a fish trap
Mesolithic people sometimes cremated bodies
Some bodies were found with axes and other artefacts (grave goods)
