    • Tactile
      • Touch.
        • E.g. How cold stone feels.
    • Encoding
      • Changing information so that it could be stored in the brain.
  2. Multistore Model of Memory

    • Sensory Memory
      • Duration: Few seconds
      • Capacity: Large
      • Attention transfers information to Short Term Memory
    • Short Term Memory
      • Duration: 30 Seconds
      • Capacity: 5-9 items
      • Encoding: Acoustic
    • Long Term Memory
      • Duration: Up to lifetime
      • Capacity: Unlimited

  3. Factors Affecting the Accuracy of Memory

    • False Memories
      • A memory of something that didn’t happen.
        • E.g. You though you took out the trash, but you didn’t...
    • Context
      • The place where a memory is made acts like a cue for recall.
        • E.g. If you learn something new in a math class, you are more likely to recall it in there, as the surroundings act like a cue.
    • Interference
      • Two memories compete with each other and one can prevent us from accessing the other.
        • E.g. If you always put your pens into a pencil case, and then you put them somewhere else, that old memory may interfere with the new one.
