2. Procedures

   • Experiment 1
     • 75 participants
     • 5 Different conditions: Hit, Smashed, Collided, Contacted and Bumped
     • Each group of 9 watched a series of car accidents and were then asked to answer a critical question
       • How fast were the cars going when they ____ Eachother?
   • Experiment 2
     • 3 different conditions: Smashed, Hit and a control group
     • The three groups were shown a multiple car crash, then asked the critical question
       • They were then asked to return to the lab and asked another critical question
         • Did you see any broken glass?

3. Findings and Conclusions

   • Smashed: 40.8
   • Collided: 39.3
   • Bumped: 38.1
   • Hit: 34.0
   • Contacted: 31.8
