1. Data must be interval

   • Median has 50% of scores falling to each side, mode represents the highest score when the distribution of scores is plotted
     • 68% of scores lie within one standard deviation of the mean
       • 95% of scores lie within two standard deviations of the mean
         • 99.8% of scores lie within three standard deviations of the mean
