1. Sternberg

   • Its not about quantifying knowledge its about how we apply and use our knowledge. C.A.P creative, analytical, practical.
     • Analytical refers to the ability to problem solve and plan. Metacoponents decidde which process to use in a task, aqusition components aquire new info and retention components retrieve info.
   • Sternberg. 2 groups, one taught triarchticly and the other normally.When it came to assessments the triarchtic group were always better.
   • RWA: PLTS personal learning and thinking skills, helps develop thinking skills in schools, government enforced.
   • Gottefredson 2003, claims sternbergs theory is no different from (g)
     • counterargues: this is because he doesnt have a published test and his theory is still in development.

2. Gardner

   • Visser et al 2006. tested 200 adults on different domains. 5 of the domains positively correlated. logic, linguistic, interpersonal, spatial and natural.
   • Feldman. Observed 3-4 year olds in each domain of intelligence twice. Found evidence for the domains he was observing
   • Holism: one theory, no cultural bias. vs sternbergs approach
   • Intelligences are independent of each other, reside in different parts of the brain but can interact. He found evidence for this in historical people with exceptional talents, neuropsychological research and academic research.
