Companies give more paid holidays than they used to, as more people have free time.

Travel has become cheaper so more people can afford to go on holiday.

Holiday providers now use the internet to sell their products to directly to customers which makes them cheaper and affordable.

Why are some places becoming more popular?

Improvements of transport - can make it more quicker, efficient and easier to get to places.

Countries in more unusual places for example, Africa as it they are marketing their safaris.

Many countries have invested in infrastructure for tourism to make them more attractive.

Tourism is important to the economy because...?

Tourism creates jobs for local people

It increases the income of other buisnesses that supply the tourism industry which helps the economy grow

Poorer countries are more dependable on large economy counties because it helps their smaller economy grow
