About teaching reading quizzes

Using teaching reading quizzes

These user-made quizzes offer different ways to check your understanding of teaching reading. RICA Website Practice Test includes classroom scenarios, while the RICA preparation sets cover further questions in separate blocks. Other quizzes focus on topics such as fluency, background knowledge and phonemic awareness.

Where to start

For scenario-based practice, start with RICA Website Practice Test. If you want to focus on reading fluency, try Final exam chapter 6. For questions on phonemic awareness and phonics, look at Foundations of Reading - Pearson website.

Take a quiz on the topic you are studying and note the questions you want to revisit. If you need more explanation before trying again, look for a relevant mind map or notes on the Teaching Reading unit page. Flashcards can also be useful when you want to practise recalling terms rather than answering quiz questions.
