Hudism

• world’s oldest religion. No one person started it. It came about through the Aryan Rig Vedas.
• Vegetarianism - Many Hindus believe in nonviolence towards both people and animals.
• There are Hindu temples all over the world. Each temple has one or more priests. Most Hindu priests today still come from the top caste as they did in ancient times. This caste is called the Brahmin.

• Rig Vedas - A sacred collection of hymns of Hinduism written in Vedic Sanskrit
• 2. Brahma - The life-force; the creator and destroyer of everything. Can take many forms, or gods such as:
• Brahma - the creator
• Vishnu - the preserver
• Shiva - the destroyer
• 3. Reincarnation - The belief that after a person dies, he or she is reborn into a new life.

• 5. Karma - The result or consequence of a person’s actions
• Ganges River - People bathe in the Ganges River. As in ancient times, many Hindus still believe the waters from the Ganges River will help purify their souls.
