Are These Our Best New Features Yet?

Great news – even more new features!!

At ExamTime, we’re also learning every day and using that learning to deliver an even better website for you! Today we pull the curtain back on our latest improvements and introduce our new ExamTime features. From looking at user habits and getting feedback, we realised that there were certain areas where we could improve ExamTime even more.

So what did we do? We locked our developers in a room and let them at it!

Let’s have a look at the great new features now available:

1. Improved Viewing of Resources:

The big change you’ll notice is that when you view a learning resource, the experience is a lot better. Marvel at our new widescreen canvas. This allows you to absorb more of the resource. Teachers can check out how impressive our improved resources look on a whiteboard. If there is a better Flashcard display out there, we’d be amazed!

Click on our new-look interactive Physics Flashcards below to try it out:

2. Your Performance Stats & Tracking:

Performance Stats:
One way to keep motivated when studying is to monitor your progress over time. As you become more confident in your knowledge, the confidence you gain will encourage you to achieve even more.

Now ExamTime helps boost your motivation by providing a way of monitoring your progress on Quizzes and Flashcards.

To see how your latest attempt at a Quiz or Flashcard rates compared to previous attempts, simply click on the “View Performance Stats” button once you’ve completed the resource. You can also show off your knowledge to ExamTime friends by sharing your score via the info tab. See an example of a Quiz score below:

Tracking Completion of a Mind Map or Note:

After choosing the tracking option and marking what you’ve done, you can see your completion rate in the information tab. We liked the performance tracking feature so much that we decided to add it to Notes too! Say hello to increased motivation and better organisation!

To access this feature, simply choose “Show Tracking” in the resource view mode of a Mind Map or Note. This will enable you to tick all the nodes or text boxes you have completed or learned. You’ll get an updated score in the corner of the resource once you have completed the performance tracking. To see the completion rate without being in the resource, simple click the info symbol on the resource tile.

3. Capture Global Knowledge with Pinning:

Now you can tap into the power of the global community more effectively. Introducing our latest feature, “Pinning”. You can now pin a resource created by someone else to any of your subjects. This allows you to quickly access resources that enhance your understanding and improve your knowledge base. Impressing your teachers or wowing your class with your broad range of knowledge and variety of resources is now so much easier!

Pinning a learning resourceTo use the Pin feature, simply click on the Pin icon on a public resource – make sure you’re logged in. You’ll then see a pop up box allowing you to choose which subject you wish to Pin the resource to. One click and you’re done – the resource is now accessible through your subject folder. Simple!

Please Note: The resource will be a live resource. Any further changes made to the resource by the owner will be reflected next time you go to access the resource through your subject folder.

4. Smarter Resource Discovery Through Tagging:

There are hundreds of thousands of learning resources in the ExamTime library from Breaking Bad Quizzes to the Doppler Effect Mind Maps. How do you ensure that you see more relevant learning resources on ExamTime? By using our new tags feature!

You now have the option to add tags to your learning resources. This allows us to suggest related learning resources created by others. When you have a resource with a tag, you will now see a new “Related” tab on the right-hand side of the view mode screen. Its common knowledge that combined wisdom is better than isolated learning. Now you can easily discover resources from students and teachers around the globe for additional knowledge and fresh insight on the topic you are studying. You can also look at all resources related to a tag by clicking on a tag to display resources.

To add tags to your resources, simply choose the “edit details” option in the resource description field.
