Summer Classes : Manage your Time Effectively for Success

Summer time is not known as a time for getting school work done, but you and I both know that just the opposite is true. Summer is hardly a time of rest when there are summer classes to be had. You thought you’d take a class or two to get them out of the way quickly. Then you soon realize, summer classes are gruelling. Classes that are covering 12 weeks of material in just a third of that time can be daunting and difficult to keep up, not to mention you also have work and family. Needless to say, you’re a busy person, and the work you do outside of class is just as important as the work you do in class.

Effective time management is imperative during summer. You can attend every class and write excellent, thorough notes and even save and organize them using GoConqr’s Notes Software, but if you do not take the time to review them afterwards, it is a fruitless effort.

Time Management is Possible and Easy

So how do you know much you should be studying? Here’s a helpful tip: The rule of thumb is 3 hours/credit hour. So if you are taking a 3 or 4 credit hour course, you would study 9 or 12 hours a week.

You are probably thinking where I can possibly fit that study time in? Don’t get overwhelmed yet! It does not have to be 9 consecutive hours. You can break it up throughout the week. In fact, that is recommended. Students burn themselves out by thinking they can knock all that time out in one or two study sessions. Taking an hour and a half or 2 hours, throughout the week is much more beneficial and productive. By using a Study Calendar, time management will be an easier task than before.
