Pancreatic Polypeptide-Pancreas, Decrease appetite. Leptin-Adipose tissue, Decrease appetite - 5Give some reasons for decreased ghrelin release when we eat. Also give the nervous pathway the effect of ghrelin is passed down.Stomach distention causes less ghrelin to be released. Effect of ghrelin passed down the vagal afferent pathway to the brain.
- 6When PYY was measured in a fasted state what was found?Obese people had lower PYY than normal weighted people.
- 7What hormone would increase after we have eaten a fatty meal?CCK
- 8What happens to leptin levels over time. Why is this?No real fluctuation within our body as it is released from the adipose tissue which doesn't change over time unlike ghrelin which is controlled by stomach distention.
- 9What part of our brain is responsible for combining the signals from all round out body to control appetite?Hypothalamus
