About waves flashcards

GoConqr Original

Using Waves flashcards

Start with Waves Key Terms if you want to practise vocabulary. Its cards cover displacement, amplitude, wavelength, period and frequency. For questions on wave types, try Waves - Physics GCSE 9-1, which asks for examples of transverse and longitudinal waves.

Other decks let you focus on a narrower topic. Coherence and Interference asks about coherent waves and wavefronts, while Ultrasound gives you a sound-related topic to explore. There are also cards on the electromagnetic spectrum, reflection and refraction.

Build a revision routine

Work through a few cards at a time and say or write your answer before checking it. Return to the terms that need more practice, then choose a deck with questions on the same topic. If you want a visual overview, switch to a mind map on the Waves unit page; use a quiz there when you want to practise answering questions in another format.

Frequently asked questions

Which flashcard deck should I start with?

Waves Key Terms is a useful starting point for vocabulary such as amplitude, wavelength and frequency. If you would rather begin with questions about wave types, try Waves - Physics GCSE 9-1. It asks for examples of transverse and longitudinal waves.

Do the flashcards suit GCSE or IB Physics revision?

The collection is mostly secondary-level and includes decks named for GCSE and IB Physics. Waves - Physics GCSE 9-1 asks about wave types, while IB Topic 4 Waves (SL) is another listed deck. Check the cards in a deck to see whether they cover the terms or questions you want to practise.

Are these flashcards free to use?

Yes. Every resource listed here is free to open and study without an account. The decks were made by GoConqr users. A free account also lets you make your own flashcards, quizzes, mind maps and notes, and save your quiz scores.

What can I do if I need more than flashcards?

Visit the Waves unit page to find other formats, including mind maps and quizzes. A mind map can provide a visual overview before you return to the cards. A quiz gives you another way to practise questions on a topic you have revised.
