1. Question Structure

   • You are asked to read TWO descriptions from passage A
   • The question and your response should be broken down into part a) and part b)

2. 30 - 40 minutes

3. How to Approach the Question

   • Each paragraph needs a topic sentence: '... is made to seem...' + THREE adjectives
   • Pick a 'central image' that encapsulates how (whatever it is!) is made to seem
     • Figurative language (a metaphor, simile or personification)
     • The analyse the image, focusing on the language, to explain HOW it contributes to the overall impression
   • Pick FOUR individual words, define what they mean, and explain what they connote or reveal
